Filezilla
Great free FTP client. I use this practically every day.

NVU
Free WYSIWYG web design program. While it’s by no means perfect, it’s pretty darn good. Fairly easy to learn, with some powerful features, it’s quite adaquate for most Online Marketing projects.

Open Office
If you need a word processor, spreadsheet and database package, I highly recommend Open Office. It reads and creates files which work with Microsoft Office; it’s well thought-out and easy to use.

Orwell
This nifty utility lets you easily find articles based on a given keyword. It cleans up the text and allows you to check the keyword density of the article as well.

Domain Name Analyzer
This utility lets you create a list of domain names and checks their availability for you. The tool builds names automatically, by adding prefixes or suffixes to the keywords you enter. Highly recommended.

The Gimp
The GNU Image Manipulation Program. This is a powerful graphics proogram, which you can use to retouch photos, create logos and convert graphics files from one type to another. Read more here.

Wordpress is free blogging software. Its major advantage is that it is compact, and easy to extend.

FreeMind
Amazing free mind-mapping software. Great for brainstorming, keeping track of things, keeping notes and much more.

BlogBridge
Excellent RSS and Blog reader. This program makes it easy to check up on hundreds of blogs.

Firefox
Firefox is a web browser - the first real competition to Internet Explorer in a number of years. It’s a pleasure to use, and much more secure. Check out Thunderbird, the companion mail client, as well.
